How was Christmas???

Hi Deb here with you today. How was Christmas??? Have you recovered? Another busy day over and now on to the New Year. I've got a few days holiday so am aiming on doing some scrapping in amongst children and grandchildren.

I've managed to get a few done over the last few weeks too and have a couple to share with you. The first one is all about the 'Body Slam'. Anyone with boys can probably relate to this one!

I used a stencil for the background. Firstly, I simply drew around the template of bricks with black pen. I then used gesso and moving the stencil over, spread that across the page. Once dried, the photos were laid on top, the journalling printed up on the computer, cut and pasted on.

To get the finish on the chipboard I have simply inked it with pigment ink and sprinkled embossing powder generously over that and heat set.

Materials used:
A2Z Scraplet Chipboard
Black Fine Liner
Pigment Ink
Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder

Chewtime is about our new 'rescue' dog. He is the most gorgeous little fellow, full of life and loves his cuddles as well as a good chew on something. Thankfully that something is now bones and chew toys! We only lost one pair of thongs :)

The title for Chewtime is a simple ink and Dimensional Magic finish. It gives a lovely smooth and glossy surface that really highlights your chipboard embellishment. You can use it over any medium, experiment with pens, inks, chalks or whatever you have and use.

Materials used:
Kaiser cardstock
A2Z Scraplets Chipboard
Basic Grey Papers
Studio Calico dots
Chalk Ink
Dimensional Magic

Until next time,

Merry Christmas from Petra

I never had time to make Christmas cards this year - life has been too busy... This is my Christmas greeting to you all 2014.
Have a fabulous and cosy day!

I grounded the A2Z Scraplet chipboard with gesso to make the surface less porous and then I embossed with gold embossing powder.

Merry Christmas and thanks for a wonderful year.

From all the team at A2Z Scraplets including the wonderful Design Team Girls, we are ...

Many thanks to everyone who has made the past year an enjoyable journey. There has been a lot to learn and quite a few changes that have happened. We are very pleased to say that the hard work is paying off and we have installed a second and operate a second machine. We are also happy to say that we are upgrading the chipboard to 1.8mm which will allow us to produce finer and stronger designs. None of this could have been achieved without the wonderful retailers who have supported us and their amazing customers. These people, along with the incredible Design Team have been fantastic.

Please take care over the Christmas break, stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

Hi there,

Well, I guess it is better late than never….my turn on the A2Z Scraplets blog today.  I really haven't had any time to scrap since November.  Between work, end of school year celebrations, Christmas get togethers, being sick and receiving some devastating news about a friend, plus I still don't have my scrap room back yet…scrapping out of boxes is not very appealing or easy!

I have managed to do just one layout for today, using the Joy scribbly frame.

I coloured the scribble frame and the word Joy with Gelatos and painted the dove with Viva Mother of Pearl modelling cream.

Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2015!

Happy scrapping,

Never enough time ...........

Sometimes time is short, in fact much of the time it is short but that doesn't mean no scrapping. Lately I have had a lot of photos that I wanted to scrap while the memory was still fresh. Being busy with family, work and end of the year lead up to Christmas has meant very little scrap time. This hasn't stopped me, it's just simplified what I produced.

This is a page of our precious little rescue dog - Alfie ............ or Alfred in some circumstances.
Alfie came to us a very timid little boy, hesitant to be touched and held but within a couple of days he was relaxing and lapping up the attention.

A close up of the chipboard - simply inked using a couple of inks.

Materials used: Basic Grey paper
A2Z Scraplets
Magic Scraps Flair
K and Co Droplets

The next page is all about the title! Again, simple and tells me the story of what happened on that day, at the time.

Where has the month gone?

Caz here with you today. I cannot believe how fast this month is flying by and I am fast becoming less prepared each day for Christmas. Today I have an OTP project to share that I made for my children's teachers end of year gifts.
Each year I like to hand make my children's teachers gifts and I always make teachers survival kits. They seem to be loved and give the teachers a little giggle. This year my daughter had a male teacher which I usually struggle to make masculine things as I tend to get a bit tizzy. But here is what I came up with. My son has a female teacher so without going overboard his was a little easier but the A2z masculine scraplets made them both a breeze.

I have used Steampunk1 Large frame and Shapes nested cogs and Flourish 28

Some close ups just so you can get an idea of what I mean when I say teachers survival kit. Just looking at teaching on a lighter side at the end of year.

On the second one I used the title Never a dull moment and Steampunk Butterfly shape also the same map pointers and Flourish as above.

I am terribly sorry for the terrible photos we have had a shocking start to summer with rain most days which has left indoors so dark and not good for photos. This will be my last post for this year so I wish all of our lovely visitors a Very Merry Christmas and safe new year. I hope you all have a magical Christmas and cherish the time spent with loved ones. See you all in the new year

Counting down the days ...........

Until Christmas.

Hi, Deb with you today. Things have been super busy leading up to Christmas. Getting the presents organized, the food list done, finalizing orders, some new releases and school holidays have hit. I'll be downing tools for a couple of weeks to spend time with the family and catch up with everyone.

Today I have a few Off the Page things to share. Some more things we have been doing with custom designs. Firstly, I have made some invitations for someone very special. They wanted something simple but different. We used Timber veneer for the invitation itself, engraving the information.

The RSVP and Wishing Well were kept super simple.

The outer cover of the invitation was designed into a half doily in order to mount the invite to the back and fold the cut out over the top. Lastly, it was all tied together with twine, ribbon and a charm.

The next project for completion was some Christmas decorations for the tree. We have numerous children and grand children in our family and this year, I designed some ornaments with their names on. These are cut out of 1.8mm thick chipboard for a sturdy, durable memento that can be kept from year to year.

These are so easy to decorate. I have simply painted the back and front a couple of times. Then when dry, applied a coat of dimensional finish and covered liberally with glitter. Shake off excess. That's it!

I have used a variety of colors, glittering to match the paint.

These look stunning hung on the tree.

Lastly, I have been making some 'home decor' type wall hangings for the girls. Using some string hearts, a variety of threads and laser cut chipboard names, I came up with these gorgeous hearts.

Again, the chipboard has been painted, 3D'd and glittered. Just enough sparkle for some special little girls.

Close ups of the finishes on the names.

That's it for another week, I'll see you again next Sunday for my final post before Christmas.

Until next time,
Happy Scrapping

Monkey face with A2Z Scraplets Monkey

I saw these super cute set of Monkeys that I just adore and I knew I had the perfect picture to go with it - a pic of my darling son doing his Monkey Face.

I made the background using spray and gesso and a text stamp.

On the Scraplet I used a text stamp with staz on ink. then I sprayed it with Lindy's stamp gang gold spray and then I painted the nose, hands, feet, tail and eyes with dirties ink mixed with some water.
